Often champagne is typically associated with New Year’s Eve, but it’s typically more fun to try a variety of different cocktails for that evening to make the event more festive.
However that’s not to say that champagne’s snap, crackle and pop doesn’t have a distinctive place in the holiday cocktail menu.
Thanks to Feteafete.com’s Tami, she came up with a truly unique presentation there that I had to snag for this blog.
Basil Hayden Fizz is made from Basil Hayden Bourbon and champagne. It might seem to be an odd mix but really it’s quite different and gives a unique presentation to what you typically associate with champagne.
Basil Hayden’s Bourbon has twice as much rye in it as the other bourbon in the Small Batch Collection. Noting significant peppermint tones , there is also pepper balanced by slight citrus overtones, and a spicy, warming finish. Aged eight
years at a relatively mild 80 proof, Basil Hayden’s has a broad appeal and is equally
enjoyable alone or in cocktails such as a Juicy Basil and Basil Bubbly- or the Basil Hayden Fizz
