Daniel Craig & Liev Schreiber Star in Defiance Now Out on DVD & Blu-Ray!

Looking for a seriously good movie– that’s both serious and has some historical reference points? You can find it in Defiance starring Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber now out on DVD and Blu-Ray Discs.

Based on a true story of three brothers who not only survive the loss/massacure of their parents but journey on to move beyond the reach of the Germans during World War II, they come across other Jews hiding in a forest. these brothers band together as the tribe of people (much like Moses leading the Israelites out of the desert/Egypt) and manage to survive treacherous times. A coalition with the Russians dissolves and the tribe of people are left to survive on their own.

The DEFIANCE DVD and Blu-ray presentations include commentary by director Edward Zwick, an in-depth look at the making of the film called “Defiance: Return to the Forest”, interviews with the real-life descendants of the Bielski family and photographs taken by the director during the production. Additionally, the Blu-ray includes “Scoring Defiance”, a discussion with composer James Newton Howard and violinist Joshua Bell about the much-lauded score.

This movie portrays World War II truthfully and accurately with the extreme violence and grim circumstances. It’s definitely not for the timid or children however it’s a great movie if you have a chance to see it. It’s worth the time. it’s an extremely moving story.

While this movie is only 136 minutes, it seems like a lot longer because of the intense performances.
