Looking for interesting entertainment for the weekend? While you have probably seen the HUNGER GAMES or decided to skip a lot of movies, here are two distinctly different TV shows now on DVD that you should see– well if you are an adult you should see both. If you have children, the family can see one; adults both.
Jane by Design is one of the most engaging new series on TV that works for the entire family. Catching the 13-24 age demographic, this also gets a lot of attention from men and women because they get the drift and see the authenticity of the acting. Each character is “real” with significant depth and you want to learn everything about everyone. Going far beyond Ugly Betty, this is about a high school girl who wants a career in fashion — and she’s got the talent but learning how to navigate the politics of the working world as well as that of high school — without parents. She’s smart, savvy and yet still makes the mistakes teens make. Teens will adore this series and adults will identify and live vicariously through this series. LOVE IT!

HBO’s Game of Thrones is not particularly kid-friendly unless you are thinking over 14 years old. This is seriously dark drama and more like Starz Spartacus with language, violence, nudity and more going on. However this fantasy series comes to life in this amazing TV/video and it’s smoking hot when it comes to capturing attention. Multi-faceted, layered story based on a book series that encompasses mystics, magic, dragons, kings, warriors and so much more– it’s hard to let go of this series because viewers become enchanted with the story and the extremely exceptional acting
The story covers a broad range of characters and tribes who all want the Iron Throne and the political and sexual intrique is worthy of the Emmy nominations. From unusual casting like Peter Dinklage who is astonishingly great in his role as a smart, savvy, politically wise warrior to Sean Bean as the leader of the North to the Drago and the Dragon people. “the series immerses viewers in a multilayered, distinctly imagined world of mysticism and earthiness, fidelity and deceit, wonder and mayhem.”
