I have been seeing a lot of indie movies lately. I don’t know why– sometimes I am drawn to smaller films with interesting cast members that have a real story to tell. When I was offered a chance to go on set of an indie film in production and interview some cast members, I jumped at the chance. This indie movie was in the process of shooting in North Hollywood– during the height of the heat wave –and was in a little house in a blue-collar neighborhood in an area of LA that was brand new to me.
Movie title: Edge of Salvation
The film takes a social-economic look at what our country is faced with today as seen through the eyes of a 14 year-old-boy and a family that loses everything due to a down economy, pride, greed and ultimately “man’s inhumanity to man.” It touches on abuse, hunger and poverty, but in the end there’s a glimmer of hope that is manifested through undying faith. The message of the film is never to give up no matter how difficult life may appear to be. Always adapt and overcome.
Cast: a slew of actors you know: Charlene Tilton, Jeremy London, Jonathan Lipnicki, Kelly Washington and a break-out for D. Michael Beldi in a key role.
Edge of Salvation was written and directed by Luciano Saber and you will be seeing interviews with each cast member as well as Saber. Each has a perspective on their character and the movie as a whole. It’s kind of interesting because you can see what it’s like to shoot on location.

Podcast of the interview
Thank you to Jeremy London for his time and patience. We dealt with helicopters, streetsweepers (x2!) and more on getting this interview done. He was great!
