It’s a holiday- and it’s the end of “summer” except we all know (at least here in California) we could have summer for another 2 months.
But for those of you who are already looking at weather changes, I want to give you some fun things to indulge in for cocktails. I know that I tossed you a couple of cocktails yesterday but I gave you a ton of great treats to make as well. So make sure you did make something or create a riff off those items and start ordering those specific items because they will reappear back in the blog in fall posts about cocktails, food and treats.
So now you have a bonanza of cocktails that you can make right now. Hit the store quickly and here’s the first one which is easy, breezy and you hopefully will have seen this on youtube or TV.
Sauza Refreshing Margarita- The Refreshing Lifeguard
FYI: for those who think this guy looks familiar, he should be. It’s Anderson Davis who was featured here on this blog in a podcast and I featured a slew of his videos on that post- just not this one! (Do listen to the podcast. He’s funny, interesting and shares a fair amount about himself).

Kevita is a new beverage out that is perfect by itself or also as a base for cocktails.
Here are two cocktails that really just require a glass, Kevita, a shaker, ice and some spirits.
The Kevita Mojita
Here’s the basic recipe:
Kevita Mojita
Ice
mint
Rum (Try Cruzan Spiced or Bacardi flavored Rum)
Whatever flavor of rum, you might want to snag some of that fruit and muddle them in a shaker with the mint and pour in the Kevita and shake well.
Pour into a tall glass and garnish with mint leaves.
Kevita Lemon Pepper Splash!
Kevita Lemon Pepper
Lemon — sliced and also some squeezed for juice
Vodka– lemon/citron or pepper-flavored vodka. The choice will change up the tang and zip of this cocktail
Ice
Add Ice, Vodka, Kevita along with the lemon juice (1 Tsp) to a shaker and shake briskly till it’s really cold!
Pour over rocks into a tall highball glass and garnish with lemon slices.
Have a great Labor Day!!
