It’s not often that I am surprised by a new brand, but this is one of those times. I received an email last week about this jewelry collection made from vintage watch faces. I love jewelry. And I adore watches. I have several watches- most are colorful accessories that I change up based on my mood and outfit. Occasionally I find a fabulous watch that I wear unceasingly until it dies or it’s beyond repair. This new line or brand of watch-oriented jewelry works for him and/or her– in a variety of metals. The pieces take the watch face and wrap it in another metal to make the face the key element of the piece. The pieces come in various sizes and the collections include pendants, rings, and all kinds of great accessories.
Michael Westerband is the CEO behind TimelapseCo.comand he and I exchanged a number of emails as I became mesmerized by the various colors, shapes and sizes. No two watch faces are the same.
Here’s his description of the brand and the products:
Since I understand that the catchphrases “timeless” and “fashionable” get thrown around a lot when it comes to describing jewelry, seeing photos of our jewelry (or in person) illustrates what makes us different. We’re not your standard, run-of-the-mill jewelers trying to slap a different logo on the same types of products you’ll find in every mall across America.
Instead, we’re trying to inspire people to take appreciation for the current moment through our unique products by melding the past with the present through combining vintage and antique watch parts that date as far back as the mid-1800’s with modern designs. And just so you know, while the watch parts come from all over the world, we proudly make all of our precious metal products in-house in Los Angeles instead of outsourcing to a different country.
TIMELAPSE CO. PIECES FEATURE WATCH MOVEMENTS DATING AS FAR BACK AS THE EARLY 1800’S.
FROM WHERE THE MOVEMENT WAS MADE TO WHAT WAS GOING ON IN THE WORLD AT THE TIME, EACH PIECE HAS A DIFFERENT STORY TO TELL.
Discover your movement. Wear a piece of time.
I love this description because not only does it play with the meaning of the words, but the meaning shifts the more you check out the line of timepieces.

About Timelapse Co.
“Launching to the wider world late 2017 and inspired by timeless designs and style, the story of Timelapse Co. began in 2015. The initial designs focused on an intrinsic design quality that progressed to a formal appreciation of the mechanical ingenuity and complexity that watch movements exhibit. The design of watch movements has an extensive history that dates back to the 16th century. Blurring the lines between art, craft, and fashion, Timelapse Co. brings the same historical appreciation for artistic qualities and geometric precision that original watchmakers had into modern focus.”
Here’s a video that’s shows what this line is about.. and how you can even customize your own watch by allowing them to work on your watch.
