Spa Girl Cocktails is based in Palm Springs and the Palm Springs vibe heavily influenced the branding. According to Karen, Spa Girl Cocktails was dreamed up at the pool of the Viceroy Hotel while on vacation with girlfriends.
“I was drinking my cucumber martinis, and that’s where the dream began,” said Haines.
The logo was inspired by The Parker Hotel with the cinder block and pink and orange SPA GIRL logo. Furthermore, Karen has immense respect for the Spa Girl Cocktails Ambassadors. Actress and singer, Susan Anton is the celebrity Brand Ambassador. The company has incredible Brand Ambassadors that do all of the tastings and demonstrations.
“We are always looking to build our beautiful team!” said Haines. They sponsor many charity events and cocktail parties ~ there is no limit as to what they can do.”

Karen focused on creating a product that was great tasting, but it was also essential to make it guilt-free by reducing the calorie count.
“I felt there was a true need in the spirits industry where you could offer high quality, high proof, low-calorie martinis to consumers and that was my motivation,” said Haines.

Have you always been a natural at entertaining? We all want to be able to have a successful party. However, many find it daunting.
I have been entertaining for decades. I must say that is my real comfort zone. I can and do arrange cocktail and dinner parties at the last minute. My husband is notorious for calling me at 4 PM saying he is bringing friends and clients home for drinks and dinner. I always have my pantry ready for anything. Everyone has something they genuinely enjoy. Entertaining is my passion and the inspiration for creating Spa Girl Cocktails. All you need to do is chill, serve and enjoy. One of my dreams is to write an entertaining/cookbook with beautiful pictures, recipes to help take the stress out of entertaining.
I admire your work ethic. Who inspires you?
I have had amazing, hardworking women in my life from my grandmothers to my mother in law, my aunts, mother, and daughters. My earliest mentors are my grandmothers; one ran a dairy farm outside of Columbus, Ohio for over 30 years after my grandfather passed away. She was up at 5 am every morning cooking breakfast for the men before they went out in the field. Then she worked in her garden, prepared lunch, drove it out to the men in the areas, did all the bookkeeping for the business/farm and then made supper around 4 pm. My other grandmother was equally fabulous in a completely different way. She was very glamorous, drove a pink Cadillac, wore high heels, and always had her nails done. She and my grandfather had a women’s clothing store. She would set the most beautiful table every morning for my grandfather with exquisite china and fresh flowers from her garden. On days she didn’t go into the office, she had her girlfriends over and they would drink martinis for lunch. The women in my life have incredible stories. Also, my dad is my rock. He has the most impeccable work ethic I have ever seen. I am so lucky to have his strength and guidance every day.

We love doing events! It is a beautiful way to meet people, make new friends and share our beautiful Spa Girl brand and delicious martinis. We also host private cocktails parties up to 300 plus charity galas.
Were you nervous when you started the company? Or you knew you were in your element?
I was beyond excited much more than nervous to start my own company. Looking back over the past five years I honestly had no idea for what was ahead. I knew there would be a big learning curve; however, I never doubted the path or direction starting Spa Girl Cocktails. I’m a real entrepreneur, and I’m more inspired today than ever. I wake up every night and walk around my house smiling excitedly to get going the next morning. There are those dark days. You have to understand peaks comes with valleys. I’m so excited about our growth, our new accounts, and our new states and then quickly get right back to work.

Ingredients:
3 oz. Spa Girl Spa Martini
1 oz. Bai Coconut Water
Slice of fresh pineapple
Method:
Shake Spa Girl and the coconut water over ice,
Strain into martini glass,
Garnish with fresh pineapple ~ Delicious!
The Bond Girl ~
Ingredients:
3 oz. Spa Girl Pear Martini
Splash of St Germain
3 oz. Champagne
Method:
Pour the Pear Martini into a champagne flute
Add the champagne or sparkling wine
Add a splash of St. Germain on top
Garnish with fresh strawberries
