Catt Sadler Discusses Gender Disparity in Pay + Professional Life with M.M. LaFLeur’s VP, + Elle.com Article!

On Thursday, May 23, activist, producer, and former E! News host Catt Sadler and Jennifer Braunschweiger (VP of Brand for M.M.LaFLeur) teamed up to address a cross section of Hollywood women on their ongoing campaigns to shine a light on gender disparity in pay and professional life.

Following the conversation in the Grand Court of Beverly Center, guests visited the M.M.LaFleur pop-up shop, a fashion brand with a radically transparent gender parity pay scale, where invited guests got a private after-hours shopping experience.

Jennifer Braunschweiger (VP of Brand for M.M.LaFLeur) and Catt Sadler at the event!

Some of the most interesting points Sadler made to the group of Hollywood/Westside women included:

Catt advising young women how to navigate their career paths:

“Ask for what you want. You Don’t get what you don’t ask for.”

Catt discussing the importance of negotiating for better pay:

“I think that is the exciting thing about this time, we are kind of undoing this archaic idea that we are just lucky to be here.”.

Catt on life since becoming a solo entrepreneur:

“I was definitely on one straight path for a very long time, so I’ve taken a real pivot, a big hard right turn right now, but it’s a really shiny, flashy attractive destination or at least lane that I’m in and I’m just enjoying it.”

After publicly leaving E! for not receiving equal pay for equal work, Catt has become a leading voice in calling out the unequal treatment of women and men in the workplace.

About M.M. LaFleur

M.M.LaFleur was founded on a belief that when women succeed at work, the world is a better place – so the brand tapped Catt earlier this year for a brand campaign they called “What Are You Made Of?”
With this campaign, the brand celebrated Catt alongside other remarkable women’s willingness to take a stand for the issues they believe in. In addition to Catt, the campaign featured three prominent women from a range of backgrounds:
–Amy Sherald (painter known for her portrait of Michelle Obama),
–Cecile Richards (activist, organizer),
–Ana Navarro (political strategist, journalist, and critic).
The campaign ran in the New York City subway as well as select print outlets.

M.M.LaFleur is revolutionizing the workwear space through a trifecta of offerings:
–luxury workwear that is both practical and elegant,
–complimentary personal styling (available online and off),
–content that resonates with the multi-dimensional woman of purpose.

M.M.LaFleur’s mission: to take the work out of dressing for work.
The brand’s Los Angeles pop-up shop opened its doors at Beverly Center at the beginning of May. Running through May 27, Los Angeles shoppers visited the pop-up by booking an hour-long appointment in which a personal stylist put together looks from the M.M. LaFleur collection tailored specifically to each woman’s personal style.

Catt launches her podcast, “NAKED with Catt Sadler”, on June 6.. “Naked” features an all-female guest roster including Olivia Munn, Lisa Ling and Jennifer Lawrence amongst others.

Elle.com Features Catt Sadler in “Fired Up” section.

Also, Sadler also contributed a piece to ELLE.com’s “Fired Up” package. The site featured a new essay by Catt Sadler.

She  opens up about feeling severely underpaid at E! News, where she was asked to do another show and work more hours without a raise – and how “it took being angry to discover what would make me happy.”
