Going PINK! Curls for a Cure: Ouidad Launches a New Campaign+ Other BCA Products

It’s not every day that I know someone with breast cancer- -though I have been close to many people who have survived and some who didn’t. What impacts me the most is the courage it takes to go through the process and eventually to share that information, knowledge and experience not only with friends and family but also with complete strangers to empower others to help anyone with breast cancer– whether it’s others or themselves.

I know Ouidad. I personally know her. Whenever I see her here in LA or in NYC, it’s like two friends picking up the threads from where they left off despite our extremely busy lives. Little did I know that she was dealing with something much more important that “busy” but a life-threatening disease.
This blog is about Ouidad’s story and how she’s using it to reach out to you and me to get us involved. You need to know that this could happen to you– without any family history.

Ouidad’s Personal Story
In 2002 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, the same disease that took my mother’s life. Fortunately, I was treated and made a full recovery, but I vowed to never let recovery be the end of my battle.

Either way, I firmly believe that with your help we can beat breast cancer by helping fund the research that creates new treatments and ultimately finds a cure for this devastating disease.


Breast Cancer Awareness doesn’t come just one month a year. Breast Cancer strikes every day. It’s important for men and women to contribute to finding a cure and helping those who need assistance as they or their loved ones go through the treatment process.
I applaud Ouidad for making this a year-round option to donate. She will match funds. Please donate even $1– you can do that much and if we all did $1 dollar, we could make a HUGE difference.
