Get on Board with Toms’ Shoes #OneforOne! Buying One Pair of Shoes Helps Someone Else in Need! Part 1

This post is not just  a usual post.  I have been selected to be a Brand Ambassador for Toms Shoes #OneforOne  program. I am very happy to have been selected to participate in this program.   I have worked with Toms Shoes before in many interations from print to online fashion stories and the reason why I chose them for my content was more than just au currrant style, but it was the ability to purchase  shoes that are edgy and fun but also manage to do something that was innovative at the time of the company’s  launch — giving back on a #OneforOne basis by  giving a pair of shoes to people overseas in need of shoes for health reasons.  Why not buy fashion with an edge shoes that allow you to give back?  I  must have featured this brand at least 8 times in various publications and  posts.

Having provided shoes to children in need in over 60 countries– making a huge difference and impact on the health of future generations as well as “giving back” because of the success of Tom’s #Oneforone philosophy, other companies became much more aware and engaged in selling with a “give-back” but none have had the success, visibility or corporate partners quite the way that Tom’s has managed to accomplish.

Mycoskie and team always had a goal of wanting to bring the project home to those who were in need here in the US.
Now Toms Shoes has a new #OneforOne campaign to help those here in the US who are in need.

“Since I founded TOMS in 2006, it has been my goal to give sustainably in the U.S.,” admitted Mycoskie.
“Helping kids here in America is also something that the TOMS community has long wanted to do, and we’re thrilled that we are now able to respond.
I’m really proud of TOMS Giving Team and its’ hard work over the years to improve the effectiveness and impact of our global giving.
We’re now at a point where we have the learning, resources and “Giving Partners” in place to responsibly give in the US”

See how and why Mycoskie and crew are so hot on bringing it back to the US in this terrific video. Very meaningful. If you are hitting this post on 9/5 or later, do check out the other post that features this video prominently and there will be a third post that will have an interesting perspective on how to give back and do it fashionably.

TOMS recognizes the opportunity for the company’s support in the U.S. Many children in the USA don’t have access to necessary resources to be healthy and attend school. This program has a tremendous effect on their education, growth and self-esteem. With the help of TOMS’ US Giving Partners (non-governmental organizations), the gift of new shoes will help children do better in school and physical activities.

“We hold our giving to the highest standard,” added Sebastian Fries, chief giving officer of TOMS.
“Over the years, we have learned from our Giving Partners how to give shoes in the most impactful way.
Though it took time to ensure we could give to the same standard here at home, over the last year we’ve established strong U.S. “giving partnerships” with organizations serving vulnerable populations in the U.S. We are honored to partner with Save the Children and Helen Keller International and similar organizations to help meet the challenges that children and communities face here in the US”

Stay tuned for the next part about what this new program will entail and how easily you can participate.
