Great Sips for a Great Cause: Gin Lane’s 1751 Victoria Pink Gin Supports Breast Cancer Research!

Every year since the brand’s inception, Gin Lane 1751 has raised money and awareness for Breast Cancer Research by participating in numerous events, walks and various fundraisers. With many 2020 events and walks canceled due to the pandemic, the brand stepped up its efforts with retailers and bar/restaurant partners to really make an impact. For the entire month of October, Gin Lane 1751 donated 50% of the brand’s profits of all gin sold to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

This cause is very near and dear to Geoff Curley, the founder of Gin Lane 1751, as he has felt the impact of this terrible disease in his own life, as many of us have. Geoff’s mother, aunt and cousin all passed away from the deadly disease. We all know someone who’s been affected by breast cancer.

Here is a video where Geoff details his connection to this cause: https://bit.ly/3cF2f72.

Let’s mix up a few great cocktails featuring the fabulous Victoria Pink Gin from Gin Lane 1751!

Disclosure:

I was sent a bottle of the Victoria Pink Gin from Gin Lane 1751 for me to mix up some cocktails. It’s impossible to review spirits without having a bottle to try it both straight up as well as mixed in cocktails.  It doesn’t affect the accuracy and honesty  of the review because the review would not happen (nor the tasting of the pink gin) without a sample.  I am better able to talk about the flavor of the gin as well as mixed in a cocktail because I have a sample.
(And thank you to Gin Lane 1751 for sending me this great bottle of gin! I absolutely love it.

Review:

When I got the bottle from Gin Lane 1751, the first thing I did was open it and pull out a couple of small cocktail glasses to test drive this gin with my husband.  I loved it.. and he was surprised at the kick he got from this gin.
I haven’t mixed any cocktails because I recently had surgery and am recovering. Spirits weren’t on my list of beverages I could  have on a daily basis.  I will be mixing something up before Thanksgiving and I really want to try the ones with a sparkling rose’ too!

Here’s a video with Geoff Curley about how to mix up a Pink 75:cucu

Pink 75

Ingredients:

1.5 Parts Gin Lane 1751 ‘Victoria’ Pink Gin
½ Part Lemon juice
¾ Part Simple Syrup
Top with Pink Prosecco or Sparkling Rose
Lemon twist (garnish)

Method:

Combine the gin, simple syrup,  and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Shake vigorously and strain into an iced champagne glass.
Top up with Champagne and garnish with Lemon twist.

Cucumber Gin Fizz

Ingredients:

1.5 Parts Gin Lane 1751 ‘Victoria’ Pink Gin
½ Part Lime Juice
¾ Part Cucumber Simple Syrup *
Club Soda
Lime and Cucumber slices (garnish)

* To make the syrup – 1:1 water and sugar and once dissolved, add (1) shredded cucumber and let steep for 30min and then strain.

Method:

Pour all ingredients into ice-filled glass except the Club Soda.
Stir and top with Club Soda.
Garnish with cucumber and lime slices.

Pink Aperol Spritz

Ingredients:

1 Part Gin Lane 1751 ‘Victoria’ Pink Gin
1.5 Parts Aperol
4 Parts Prosecco
Soda Water
Orange Slice (garnish)

Method:

Pour all ingredients into ice-filled white wine glass except the Prosecco.
Top with Prosecco and garnish with orange slice.

The Gin Lane 1751 ‘Victoria’ Pink Gin is a luscious gin that has a soft pink cast and tastes heavenly. Yes, it’s gin but the mouthfeel is softer and not so sharp. It makes the gin go down easier…and the use in a cocktail is sublime!
I highly recommend this spirit for special events like Christmas or Hanukkah or even Thanksgiving. It would a great contrast with appetizers or desserts!
