For the second time in two months, plant-based meat provider Before the Butcher is expanding its product line with the addition of five new SKUs offering the market’s largest family of ground meat substitutes. The company’s new UNCUT Ground, Chorizo Ground, Italian Ground, Taco Ground and Breakfast Ground products provide retailers and foodservice providers with new ways to address the growing demand for meatless meat, including four pre-seasoned ground meat alternatives for recipes ranging from nachos and enchiladas to omelets, chili, stuffed peppers and many more.

Like Before the Butcher’s UNCUT burgers, the new products are 100% plant-based, gluten-free, cholesterol-free, non-GMO, and made from a proprietary combination of soy, coconut and canola oils, and natural seasonings.
–Each serving contains 9 grams of plant protein, as little as 140 gm sodium, and the flavor, chew, and bite of crumbled ground beef.
–Thawed products require just 5-7 minutes of cooking.

The new ground products are immediately available for retail sale in 14 oz. bricks at MSRPs of $7.99, as well as in larger sizes for foodservice use.

The company’s new family of ground products join its portfolio of UNCUT-branded burgers – including UNCUT Burger, UNCUT Savory Chicken Burger, UNCUT Roasted Turkey Burger and UNCUT Breakfast Sausage Patty products – and just-introduced Mainstream Plant-Based Patties that cost roughly the same as beef burgers at less than $1.40 apiece.

According to the Good Food Institute, U.S. sales of plant-based meat climbed 38% from 2017 to 2019, including an 18% jump from 2018 to 2019 alone. Penetration now includes 14% of U.S. households, reflecting expansion well beyond vegetarians to include meat eaters who want to reduce their meat consumption to improve their health, reduce the environmental impact of meat production, and promote animal welfare.
