I have featured so many cocktail posts for National Margarita Day (2/22/2021). I put together 7 different “Margarita” posts! This is the largest collection of cocktail recipes focused on just one type of cocktail that I have ever done. And it features many brands of tequila! Each of the featured brands sent images and recipes to feature for National Margarita Day.. and these recipes were substantial and interesting.
For people who aren’t working, it sounded like a great cocktail party. For those who are working, the idea of suggesting that they whip up a cocktail or two seemed to be a bit much. The issue revolves around who would actually be able to have a cocktail –whether in the office or remotely from home or anyone who is taking care of others (children, students, any older person who might require supervision)– might think that they can’t have a cocktail because it will affect their ability to focus on work, or handling a vehicle or even affect their health because of the alcohol intake. When you look at this situation that many wouldn’t be able to have a cocktail, it takes the proverbial “air out of the balloon” because these people would not be able to have even one cocktail. But I found an alternative for anyone who is hesitating about this quasi-holiday!
I am sharing a Margarita recipe that is ideal for this situation. This recipe does have alcohol, but it also has a “secret” ingredient in the recipe that will minimize the effect of the alcohol: Magic Bullet beverage. You might recognize the brand when seeing the imagery below:
Magic Bullet Margarita:
Ingredients:
2 oz of silver tequila
1/2 can of Magic Bullet beverage
1 lime split in half
ice
- Rim glass with 1) lime juice and 2) then dip the rim into some salt (preferably sea salt).
- Muddle a wedge of lime in a shaker with some ice,
- Add 2 oz. silver tequila (the brand is your choice) and half a can of Magic Bullet (blood-orange flavor!) to the shaker
- Shake really well for 45-60 seconds. You want the canister to be cold.
- Pour into a coupe glass without ice, or into a rocks glass filled with ice
- Garnish with lime.
The interesting part is that you have a choice of a tasty blood orange-flavored beverage that is part of the Margarita recipe or you can take a couple of the Magic Bullet capsules that will work just like the liquid.
