Hotel Maya’s ‘Mayapalooza’ Features ‘Copali-Copili’ Dance Group On April 2
What: Fuego at Hotel Maya features multiple Mayan cultural events each month during
Sunday brunch in the Latin American-infused restaurant or on hotel property!
Fuego at Hotel Maya’s “Mayapalooza” celebrates multiple Mayan cultural events in 2023 with live Mesoamerican dance performances; live animal interactions; art demonstrations; culinary experiences;
live music; auto exhibition; interactive storytelling; academic lectures: and other exciting events for
both kids and adults to enjoy.
The upcoming “Mayapalooza” event is on April 2 from 12-3 p.m., with the beloved Copali-Copili
Mesoamerican dance group that will perform special dances to honor and tell the story of Mayan
culture and more for educational purposes and complimentary photos.
Easter Sunday:
Spring is a bright and sun-shiny thing in Fuego as the waterfront indoor-outdoor restaurant celebrates Easter by offering Brunch at Hotel Maya on Saturday, April 8, and Sunday, April 9, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On Easter Sunday, there will be a complimentary Easter egg hunt and a special Easter Bunny appearance for restaurant and hotel guests from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
–The Latin-infused restaurant also sets the springtime holiday mood with a freshly decorated
“Spring Has Sprung Sun-Kissed Cabana” that is available by reservation from April 7-24.
–Saturday and Sunday brunches will feature live Latin jazz with the FJ Reyes Trio on Saturday, along
with a special guest performance on Sunday.
Fuego’s featured Easter cocktail is the thirst-quenching “Basil & Ginger Blossom” cocktail with fresh basil,
Titos Vodka, Canton, a splash of Cointreau, and a splash of lemon juice.
“Easter weekend is a terrific time to spend with family and friends at Fuego amidst a great mix of tasty food, live music, and refreshing sunshine,” said Greg Guthrie, General Manager at Hotel Maya – a DoubleTree by Hilton. “Fuego’s sun-drenched, waterfront outdoor patio and freshly decorated springtime cabana sets the stage for renewal and relaxation.”
The brunch menu includes starters like the
— Seafood Platter of oysters, shrimp, scallops, green mussels, Alaskan King Crab legs, citrus cocktail sauce, and horseradish aioli;
— The Choriqueso: Oaxaca, and Asadero fondue with chorizo, spinach, and fried corn tortillas.
–Spring salads include an Heirloom Carrot Salad of tri-colored baby carrots, avocado, rajas, red onion, cilantro, crumbled Feta cheese, and lavender citrus vinaigrette.
Breakfast delights with Horchata French Toast, a stack of Brioche toast, fresh berries, toasted hazelnuts,
and lechera cinnamon cream; and Machaca and Eggs, scrambled eggs, braised shredded beef, ranchero
sauce, avocado, and roasted potatoes.
Taco Callejeros includes Barbacoa, Oaxacan-style beef barbacoa with tomatillo avocado salsa.
Easter entrees include:
–Roasted Lamb Chop with red chimichurri, sweet potato yam, peas, pepper escabeche, and Cotija cheese; and White Truffle Risotto made with crème Fraiche, Parmigiana Reggiano cheese, spinach, mushrooms, black beans, roasted corn and pico de gallo.
The Vanilla Créme Brulée tops off any Easter meal with fresh berries and caramelized sugar.
In addition to Fuego’s featured Easter cocktail “Basil & Ginger Blossom,” a variety of springtime signature cocktails will be available including :
–Fuego Margarita with Reposado tequila, Cointreau, lime juice and agave nectar;
–Spicy Paloma with house-infused jalapeño Reposado, grapefruit and lime juice;
–Tito’s Bloody Mary with Tres Agaves Organic Bloody Mary Blend;
–Whiskey Amor with Maker’s Mark Bourbon, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, lemon juice, agave nectar, grenadine and mint leaves;
–Cava Mimosa with Spanish sparkling wine and orange juice; and
–Sangria with red or white selections.
A variety of red and white wines are available, including beer on tap with Mango Cart and Estrella, along with a variety of Imported, Craft, and Domestic Bottles.
