Mammoth Mountain is proud to announce it will not be raising the price of the Mammoth Value Pass (MVP) for the 2009/10 season. While offering the pass to existing MVP holders at 2008/09 pricing of $576 for adults, Mammoth will be opening the previously closed pass program to a limited number of new entrants for the 2009/10 season.

In a letter that went out to all current MVP holders, Rusty Gregory, CEO of Mammoth Mountain, detailed his reasoning for both the pricing and the opening of the program to new members.
“These are strange and difficult times and fun is more important now than ever; fun with friends, fun with your family. We are trying our best to make sure that no matter what the months ahead bring, you can still afford to have fun here at Mammoth,” said Gregory.

Created in 1999 to provide the most affordable access possible to the slopes of Mammoth and June Mountains, the MVP program was closed to new entrants in April 2005 due to concern of overcrowding at the resorts if too many were sold. MVP membership has declined over the three years since the program was closed due to natural attrition making room for a limited number of new members. Passes will go on sale to everyone April 1, 2009 and current MVP holders will be guaranteed availability for renewal if they renew between April 1-12, 2009.

To recognize existing MVP holders for their loyalty, Mammoth will be rewarding them with a bonus of $20 of passcash preloaded onto their passes upon renewal along with free trackable shipping for their new passes.
Everyone who purchases a pass during the month of April will also be eligible to purchase PassCash or gift cards with a 20% value bonus added on to the purchase price. For every $100 purchased in PassCash or gift cards, guests will receive $120 of value.

MVP 10 holders will receive unlimited skiing and riding at Mammoth and June Mountains for the entire 2009/10 winter season. MVP holders also receive other benefits throughout the season including, but not limited to, discounts on lodging, private events featuring early lift access on select days and the opportunity to get discount lift tickets for friends. New MVP members will be eligible to start using their 2009/10 pass on April 24 for unlimited riding at Mammoth for the remainder of the 2008/09 season.
