Mother’s Day is on the way and you have some shopping to do: you do, don’t you????
Make it a bit easier on yourself and shop on the web. Fragrances are always welcome gifts (and I will feature some other fragrance and beauty gifts in another post). If you want something more "outside the box" and a bit more unique — but aren’t willing to schlep to Barneys, Bendels, Bergdorfs or Fred Segal– or aren’t close enough to get there, you can still get some FABULOUS fragrances, bath, body and candle products online!
One place that I always look is Luckyscent.com . Given that I am pretty good friends with Luckyscent.com, Franco was willing to give Fashiontribes.com listeners a few recommendations on fragrances and gift ideas for mom (or brides or birthday gifts!) .. I am not going to give you all the details that Franco has in the podcast–so you just have to listen!! L’Artisan Fleur d’Oranger is a new fragrance and it doesn’t get much better than this.
Fleur d’Oranger notes
orange bigarade, petitgrain, neroli, honey, and tunisian orange blossom.
Sage has two new fragrances and these are winners too!
Coral is amazing and Moonstone is exotic — each in a roll-on perfumed oil.
Coral notes
orange blossom, mimosa, sandalwood, vanilla, hints of coconut
Moonstone notes
gardenia, amber, vanilla, oakmoss, tobacco
Keiko Mecheri is one of the biggest cult favorites around and that she’s based in LA makes waiting for her newest scents to be released even harder!! Her two new ones are very different and very interesting
Mihime’ is a powdery floral.

Hawthorn petals, bergamot and violet leaves, rose petals, ylang ylang, and narcissus, peach, amber, vanilla, heliotrope, soft white musk
Ume is fabulous– and I agree with Franco about it’s unique scent. It’s a must have for those who want fragrances that transform both as a fragrance and transform a person.
Ume Notes:
Persimmon, peach tree leaves, hints of bergamot and mandarin, Japanese wisteria, peonies and camellia sasanka, South Sea jasmine and Chinese osmanthus, Hinoki wood, Cambodian mahogany and Mousse Poivree.
For those who love candles or want to give the most unique candle out there to someone special, Kingdom Animalia is the perfect gift! It’s essential oils make it smell amazing. The presentation is phenomenal and that candle is HEAVY– as in the entire thing weighs a lot because the candle holder is quite large. It’s definitely special and from one of the most unique beauty product designers out there, Carisa Janes.
Choose from six scents– don’t ask for my recommendation. This is completely on your own. It’s too hard to categorize and I will have a podcast with Carisa Janes soon!
