NYFW: Nancy Lichtenstein Goes Bourgeosie– in Shoes. A Shoe Heaven of a Suite!!

New York Fashion Week isn’t over yet. We are still wrapping it up and Nancy Lichtenstein has been juggling all sorts of madcap adventures and events while she has tried to get this to me and I am sort of sliding them in where there’s room since the breakneck pace is going crazy…wait til you know what’s cooking in my world. (but then if you have been following my blog, maybe you know what’s going on)
Here’s Nancy with a report from a fashion suite!

After all the frenetic activity at New York Fashion Week, it was time for a rest, so I headed over to the Bourgeoisie suite at the Royalton Hotel. This is my favorite New York Hotel due to its glitterati but restful atmosphere…it’s half Phillippe Starck and half postmodern ski lodge (Starck apparently isn’t too happy with the recent redecorating but I loved the mash-up.)

Bourgeoisie Shoes, on the other hand (http://www.bourgeoisieshoes.com/) is more in-your-face glam, and they carry some of my favorite shoe designers, including Casadei, Guiseppe Zanotti and Georgina Goodman.
The suite was setup to show off the newest styles before they hit the store, and I was really excited about it because their shoe aesthetic is the same as mine: nosebleed heels with a discreet platform to make them easier to walk in. The suite was decorated with candles like a Zen temple with the purpose of worshipping shoes. (This is a subject I could get religious over!).
Everyone’s doing a bootie or ankle boot right now but these purple suede boots from Casadei really stood out–what a way to add color to a basic black outfit!

My favorite pair of shoes was this sculptural evening heel from Georgina Goodman in black with green piping…if you’re the sort of person who pays attention to every little detail, these shoes are a must-have and you won’t see them on anyone else.

Georgina Goodman shoes– definitely to die for!
The Bourgeoisie suite attracted elite names like Shaunie O’Neil (Shaquille’s wife) and CoCo (wife of rapper Ice T)…it was nice to see a little individual flair in the middle of sometimes so-tasteful-it’s-sterile New York Fashion Week.

Wow– looks like Nancy had a real *zen* moment with shoes– being “at one with” the brands. Sounds — and looks– like a blast.
Thanks to Nancy Lichtenstein for sharing her shoe bliss.
