Ovando, the Bleecker Street floral shop and favorite destination of stylish tastemakers, will steam up its storefront windows with some Valentine’s before -play.
For those in NYC, check out the “live event” created by Ovando florists: passersby will get a little piece of action, as Ovando transforms live models into a contemporary “Adam & Eve.” In Ovando’s modern day interpretation of the famed Garden of Eden tale, the lovers will trade in their fig leaves, wearing nothing more than the florist’s signature roses.
As the Garden was full of the unexpected, Ovando has a few surprises of her own, casting a handsome black “Adam” and a gorgeous blond “Eve.” This concept, which Ovando calls “work in opposites,” is seen in the designer’s Valentine’s arrangements, each blending the harsh, structural and architectural with the delicate, pure and natural…a heart, for instance, is made from tender spray roses and framed by a dramatic lacquered box.
Live window display hours:
Saturday, February 13th – Sunday, February 14th 2:00-6:00 PM
WHERE:OVANDO, 337 Bleecker St. (B’twn W. 10th St. & Christopher St.)
