Many viewers chat daily about Hallmark via social media. They watch together. It’s like a giant, welcoming club where the only membership fee is goodwill. They also talk to enthusiastic stars of Hallmark movies and series this way as well. And the connection doesn’t stop there…

If Hallmark is the “Heart of TV”, they seem to understand that the “heart of Hallmark” is the viewer. Bill Abbott, President & CEO Hallmark Channel/Hallmark Movie; Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President Programming & Network Publicity, and Pam Slay, Senior Vice President TV also regularly communicate with fans across social media. Unusual? Yes. Valued? You bet.

Original movies (holiday, mystery, romance & more), original series (When Calls the Heart, Good Witch, Chesapeake Shores), daytime’s Home & Family and classic series offer a glide path to escape. Fans know that smiles, laughs, happy tears, romance, love, mystery, redemption and hope are always moments away…and in the capable hands of beloved, familiar and new acting talents.

Now, is it all “Fan Eden”? Nooooo. Some fans don’t venture outside of familiar circles. You won’t be disloyal to your favorite(s) if you also earn frequent Twitter & Facebook points on other Hallmark fare as well. Not only that, you’ll add to your friend and follow base too! Why be a ripple in a pond, when you can splash? Speaking of “why”… Why do people “like” something on Facebook and not share it? Why do they, “favorite” something on Twitter, but not retweet or respond to it? Let’s face it, a “like” or a “favorite” is akin to nodding to someone across a crowded room. Does anyone notice?… Be honest… C’mon, say it with me…no one notices! And so, a remedy…

Below is a PRIMER for the benefit of EVERYONE in the Hallmark universe and for future Hallmark devotees as well. With this information you can belong to all fan pages, “friend” & “follow” stars, executives, and a vast array of UltraFans and Superfans. UltraFans initiate/maintain Facebook fan pages, live tweeting updates on Twitter, share programming announcements, special deals on series/movies, blogs, etc. In short, they really go the extra mile by being great fans who also do administrative tasks and blogging. They are VITAL to being plugged-in! SuperFans are VERY engaged & similar to UltraFans and they are in on all social media activity, events and more.
