Salma Hayek’s red carpet look for the Met Gala was created by celebrity hairstylist David Von Cannon using Leonor Greyl products and celebrity makeup artist Matthew VanLeeuwen using Lashify lashes.
At the annual Met Gala on last Monday evening, celebrity stylist David von Cannon took actress Salma Hayek‘s hair to soaring heights to compliment her gilded crown and regal sequined Gucci dress.
Working with Leonor Greyl products, David crafted a piled up, loose updo with a mix of textures.
“Salma wanted so see some height on top and she wanted to have a crown. We weren’t trying to go camp with her hair — she has a lot going on with her dress so we didn’t want to take it too far.”
For Salma’s makeup look, Matthew VanLeeuwen used Lashify to add those finishing touches!
“Lashify is a new and exciting addition to my kit! It gives me the ability to create all kind of lash looks and extensions that last more than just one application. They stay for up to a week!” says VanLeeuwen.
“For this event with Salma Hayek we chose to create an ultra-dramatic lash look to compliment the amazing dramatic Gucci dress and headpiece!” explains VanLeeuwen.
To do this, he used “F14 and F16 Gossamers to create a dramatic full lash effect….
After a little practice it becomes second nature. These took less than 10 min.”
